Sunny Days and Starry Nights
What could be better than summer in the city? Seriously!
I know, dear reader. You’re thinking of the stench and the sweatiness. Having lived in New York for over thirty years, I feel you.
And yet . . . there’s something magical about summer in New York City. The way the light bounces around the city. The dazzling sunsets. The picnics, the walks along the river, the fireflies. The music, the art, the sheer marvelousness of it all. It’s a silly, sexy season and there’s no better place to spend it than in Gotham.
Here’s a photo essay to remind you of the enchantment of summertime in New York City: art, culture, music and beauty, kissed by sunlight and stars. In “When Words Fail,” I reflect on the French expression for twilight: “the hour between the dog and wolf.”
