Through New York Twilight — dedicated to “chasing the light, wherever it leads” — Thomas-Graham continues to explore the quiet thresholds between night and day. Her editorial sister site, Dandelion Chandelier, extends that same fascination with illumination to the world of modern luxury, art, and culture.
She is a trustee of the Aperture Foundation, a member of the Photography Committee of the Whitney Museum, and serves on the boards of Compass, Peloton, and Bumble.
Pamela Thomas-Graham is a fine-art photographer, author, and creative based in New York City. Her work inhabits the liminal space between darkness and illumination — tracing how light reveals emotion, architecture, and memory.
Born and raised in Detroit, and educated at Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Law School (all with honors), Thomas-Graham built a trailblazing career in business before turning her lens toward the poetics of the city. The first African-American woman to be named a partner at McKinsey & Company, she later held senior leadership roles at CNBC, Liz Claiborne, and Credit Suisse.
Her debut book, When Words Fail: A Photographic Journey Through New York City, emerged from a period of personal loss and renewal, transforming the urban twilight into a meditation on grief, resilience, and grace. Her forthcoming title, Stone By Morning: A Journey Through Iceland’s Mythic Terrain (Kehrer Verlag, September 2026), expands her exploration of light into elemental landscapes — where ice, myth, and time converge.
The book has officially launched on April 8, but you can purchase an Exclusive First Edition right here. This is your chance to be among the first to experience this powerful visual memoir.
